Our Church and Parish

Our Relationship with our Church and Parish

We are extremely fortunate to be situated next door to our parish church of Christ the King. This means that we can attend Mass each week and also that Fr. Eamonn, Fr. Peter, Fr. David, Deacon Jack and the Sisters Minor of St. Francis are able to visit us regularly at school.

We are very proud of our close relationship with our parish and look forward to our half-termly School Parish Masses (led by the children of Christ the King), which are extremely well attended. The Crackers-Family Forum work hard to bake cakes to sell after these special Masses to raise funds for our school.

We particularly enjoy our annual Masses on the feast of Christ the King and our Commitment Mass, where the Year 3 and Year 6 children who are preparing to receive Sacraments that year make prayer cards which parishioners then take to pray for a particular child on their journey of faith.

On the Sunday after the Year 3 children have received the Sacrament of the Eucharist, many of the children come to Mass dressed in their Communion outfits and lead the parish May Procession. Children scatter rose petals on Conker Island and a child is chosen to crown a statue of Our Lady.

Many members of our school choir and our altar servers also attend Mass at Christ the King on Sundays and members of staff from our school support the Children’s Liturgy group.
