LITTLE FLOWERS HUB 3 I’S

This year, Christ the King school has created a ‘Little Flowers’ hub to enable all of our children within it to enjoy an enriched, happy primary education. We continue to refine its curriculum to best suit the particular needs of the pupils within the hub, and allow the best opportunities for growth and development.

Christ the King is an inclusive school and we firmly believe that all pupils have an entitlement to the Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum. Our work is particularly focused towards the acquisition of language and communication skills and we ensure that the curriculum is modified and presented in such a way as to make it accessible to all pupils.

The Little Flowers Hub benefits from a team of trained, dedicated staff whose role includes supporting both pupils and teaching staff. Their teaching methods aim to address individual needs and abilities and provide a structure which ensures both personal development and academic progress. Alongside academic subjects, we aim to encourage tolerance of diversity, consideration for others and the environment and the development of self-discipline and responsibility. It is important for us that our pupils develop self-confidence and independence skills to enable them to access lifelong learning. Within the ‘Little Flowers’, the children have access to specialist interventions.

As a consequence, the pupils in our care make steady progress throughout the year. We build upon the pupils’ every success and encourage them to value their work and themselves by ensuring that all their achievements – including the smallest steps - are rewarded.
