Class 6 Assembly 21.1.20

Class 6 travel back in time to 1950s USA!

On Tuesday morning, Class 6 led our Key Stage One Assembly with a look back at the amazing life and achievements of Rosa Parks. On 1st December 1955, Rosa Parks made a famous bus journey after work, which went down in history as the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement in America. The people that supported this movement campaigned for fairness and the same rights for everybody. The children re-enacted this historic event, confidently shared readings about Rosa’s life and performed two songs commemorating the changes that Rosa helped to make. The assembly ended by encouraging everybody to be like Rosa Parks and to take a stand against unfairness. Well done, Class 6!
