Class 6 Assembly 29.1.19

Class 6 decided to base their assembly around the Gospel Virtues of Eloquent and Truthful. They performed a fantastic role-play based around the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf to emphasise how important it is to be Eloquent and Truthful to God in our lives.

The children also took inspiration from a person called

A person today who sets an example of being eloquent and truthful is Malala Yousafzai. When she was younger, Malala lived in Pakistan. Most people in Pakistan think that it is very important that girls go to school. However there is a small group of people who think this is wrong. Malala and her family have worked very hard to make sure that girls can receive a good education. Even at eleven years old, Malala was campaigning to help girls go to school.  However, in October 2012 a group of people in Malala’s area of Pakistan banned girls from going to school. Malala thought this was very wrong and refused to stay away from school. Malala is now 21 years old and lives here in Birmingham. She received the Nobel Peace Prize for her bravery and strength in helping all children and young people everywhere to receive a good education.

It was great to see the children take a valuable lesson from this wonderful woman which they can use in their own lives.
