Head Teacher's Welcome

Welcome to Christ the King Catholic Primary School.

It is my privilege to welcome you to our school website and to share a glimpse of the wonderful community that makes Christ the King such a special place for children to grow, learn and flourish.

We are a community family with around 390 children on roll, situated in the Sacred Heart and St John Henry Newman Parish in Kingstanding, North Birmingham.

Central to everything we do is the formation of each pupil as a unique child of God. Whilst our academic attainment is consistently above national averages, it is the faith development and personal formation of our pupils that truly makes Christ the King such a wonderful school to be part of. Our mission statement, ‘God’s Kingdom we will build, for our lives to be fulfilled,’ lies at the heart of all we do, calling our children to build God's Kingdom through their words, actions and relationships.

At Christ the King, every child is welcomed and valued as a unique member of God's family. Diversity is celebrated, and children from different faiths and backgrounds are united by a strong sense of community and belonging. Through positive partnerships between home and school, our staff develop a deep understanding of each child, enabling them to thrive in every aspect of school life.

We are blessed with a dedicated and talented team of staff who work tirelessly to provide the very best education and care for every child entrusted to us. Their commitment, compassion and professionalism ensure that our pupils are supported, challenged and encouraged to reach their full potential. It is through their daily dedication that our school continues to be a place where children feel known, valued and inspired.

Alongside our desire to prepare children for every stage of their educational journey is the ambition for all pupils at Christ the King to excel in all that they do. Through a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum, alongside a wealth of personal development experiences, children are supported to thrive, achieve and discover their God-given talents. We provide opportunities for creativity, leadership and service, enabling pupils to contribute positively to school life through a variety of groups, initiatives and enrichment activities.

Above all, we want our pupils to feel happy, safe and valued. The mental health and wellbeing of both pupils and staff are of paramount importance, and we are proud of the strong pastoral support available throughout our school community. Through this care and guidance, children grow in character, confidence and resilience, developing the qualities they need to flourish both now and in the future.

A website can only tell part of our story. The best way to appreciate the warmth, faith and ambition that define Christ the King is to visit us. We would be delighted to welcome you to Christ the King and invite you to experience our community in action.
