Live Simply Award
Christ the King Catholic Primary School achieves the LiveSimply Award.
Pupils and staff from Christ the King Catholic Primary School have achieved the LiveSimply Award validating they are living simply, sustainably, and in solidarity with the world’s poorest communities.
The award, championed by overseas development charity CAFOD, was presented to the Catholic school after they successfully planned and implemented faith inspired actions that highlighted the importance of caring for people and the planet. Their actions have had a positive impact throughout the school, in their local community, and globally too, as they reached out to make a difference.
Live Simply Prayers
As a school and in response to our School's mission statement, we have decided to pursue the CAFOD Live Simply award. This is an opportunity for us to respond to Pope Francis’ invitation to “work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted to us.”
To earn this award, in collaboration with our global, local and school family, we will complete a range of actions to show we are living:
- Simply- Taking the time to be more prayerful, reflective and considerate to others.
- In solidarity with the poor and in need- being aware that other people might be experiencing difficulties, vulnerabilities and injustice.
- Sustainably- God’s gave us this earth for us to care for so we should look after his resources wisely.
But why should we try to Live Simply?
