Makaton Mondays
Some of the children in our school have communication issues and are beginning to use Makation as an additional form of communication to help interact with others. As an inclusive school, Makaton signs are shared so that all members of school community can communicate with all pupils in our school. Makaton is good for all so that we all have an additional way to communicate alongside talking.
The idea behind Makaton Monday is to encourage everyone to take a small step towards learning how to sign – even one sign is better than nothing. But the more you learn, the better.
Programme overview
We will introduce a new Makaton sign each week. Remember to keep using the ones you’ve already learned. Always sign and say the word at the same time.
