Chaplaincy Team
At Christ the King, we have a chaplaincy team made up of KS2 children to help strengthen the faith life of our community. They are role models who lead prayer and liturgy, supporting others in worship and helping to make our school a place where faith is lived out each day. Some are alter servers who will help in delivery of mass and others attend children's liturgy on a Sunday so that they may gain knowledge and confidence to spread the word of God. The team also takes part in charitable outreach, putting the Catholic Social Teaching values and Gospel Virtues into action by serving others in our wider community.
Some of the tasks that the children undertake are:
- Working collaboratively with others, such as teachers, other CTK pupils and pupils from other schools to prepare and lead creative and well-constructed experiences of prayer and liturgy
- Contributing to our school’s evaluation of out Catholic life and mission and taking a lead in planning improvements to it
- Monitoring prayer focus' in classrooms
- Evaluating aspects of school life such as our Celebration of the Word assemblies
- Serving our wider community by conducting charitable outreach
- Being a buddy for reception children during Autumn term Masses
