Severe Weather Procedures

 

Dear parents and guardians

 

Our main priority will always be the safety and wellbeing of our pupils, families and staff when making a decision whether or not to close when there is extreme weather. Whilst we will do everything we can to stay open, we will take in to account the following:

 

Is the site safe?

Are the local roads too dangerous to drive on?

Has the local authority enforced a blanket closure?

 

When will the decision be made?

I aim to make a decision by 7am once I have gathered information about the local conditions.

 

How will you know if the school is open or closed?

Should a closure be necessary, families will be notified by text and information will be published on the school website with a clear banner confirming the school’s status. Please do not telephone the school.
