Black Country Museum
Reading, Writing and Arithmetic (the three Rs) were the order of the day for Year 2 on Wednesday as they visited the amazing Black Country Living Museum to learn more about the Victorians. Not only did the children take part in an authentic Victorian school lesson, complete with a very strict Headmaster, rote learning of times tables and handwriting practice on slates, they also had the opportunity to visit a range of traditional homes and shops to fully immerse themselves in what life was like during the time of Queen Victoria’s reign. As expected, the children all agreed that they much prefer the education they receive at Christ the King! Once again all of the children proved to be outstanding representatives of our school and received many positive comments about their knowledge, enthusiasm and behaviour from our tour guides. Remember, Year 2, ‘Silence is golden!’
