Weston Super Mare
Year 2 do like to be beside the seaside!
On Wednesday, an extremely excited Year 2 packed their buckets, spades, sun cream and sunglasses and travelled to Weston-super-Mare to spend a day at the seaside just as the Victorians did in the 19th century. After a couple of hours and many cries of “Are we there yet?” and “I can see the sea!” we arrived at the beach where the children enjoyed building sandcastles, riding donkeys and eating ice cream. Despite the cloudy weather, and being joined by a flock of hungry seagulls at lunchtime, the children all enjoyed a wonderful time and returned to school with beaming smiles, a collection of memories that will last a lifetime…and shoes full of sand!
