Creativity
Children's home are the ideal location to develop children’s imagination and creativity e,g, making a big box into a fire engine for example brings every day themes to life. Children creativity can be developed in the kitchen by role playing e.g. pretending to cook food or baking a cake. This also develops children’s communication skills as they will discuss what food they made and how they made etc.
To develop their creativity whilst you are at home you could do the activities listed below.
- Dancing to music
- Sing familiar songs and make up your own words to a nursery rhyme tune
- Make shakers with pasta or rice in pots
- Make your own paint with shaving foam
- Make props for a story and act it out together
