Summer 1

Summer Overview:

Here is our Curriculum Overview for the Summer term.

Here are some of the books we will study this half term:

As part of our maths, we have been learning about 2D shapes. We can name the shapes: square, triangle, rectangle and circle. We can describe what they look like and find them in our environment.

To celebrate King Charles III coronation we learnt about the Royal Family, made our own crowns, dressed as kings or queens or in red, white and blue and held our own street party.

Growing vegetables - 10 weeks later

After 10 weeks of sunshine and lots of rain our peas had grown taller with lots of leaves. We wonder how long it will be until we have peas to pick and eat.

As part of our work on shapes we used squares, triangles, rectangles, circles and ovals to create our own pictures.

The Enormous Turnip

As part of our work on traditional tales, we read the story of The Enormous Turnip. The children enjoyed creating a puppet show whilst acting out the story with a real turnip. Turnips are big!

Half term challenge

Next half term, we will be looking at the topic 'Transport'. How many types of transport can you name?
